Real and good one

On his first day in office, as President Abraham Lincoln entered to give his inaugural address, one man stood up. He was a rich aristocrat.

He said, "Mr. Lincoln, you should not forget that your father used to make shoes for my family." And the whole Senate laughed; they thought they had made a fool of Lincoln.

But certain people are made of a totally different mettle. Lincoln looked at the man directly in the eye and said, "Sir, I know that my father used to make shoes for your family, and there will be many others here, because he made shoes the way nobody else can.

He was a creator. His shoes were not just shoes; he poured his whole soul into them. I want to ask you, have you any complaint? Because I know how to make shoes myself. If you have any complaint I can make you another pair of shoes. But as far as I know, nobody has ever complained about my father's shoes. He was a genius, a great creator and I am proud of my father".

The whole Senate was struck dumb. They could not understand what kind of man Abraham Lincoln was. He was proud because his father did his job so well that not even a single complaint had ever been heard.

Remember: "No one can hurt you without your consent."

T-Fever

The Telangana issue has become a sour grape for the centre and especially for Chidambaram who is involved in the mediation process in the Telangana issue. The centre has already sent enough hints that the statehood for Telangana is not going occur in the near future. Deployment of large battalions of army calling two members from each party for the meet Summoning of the Telangana congress MP's to Delhi all the above are more or less indications that Telangana state is still a dream far away.

Home Minister Chidambaram has invited the eight recognized parties from Andhra Pradesh on 6th January to participate in the discussions on the Telangana issue and specifically asked the parties to send two member delegations to New Delhi. But unlike in 2009 this time TRS and BJP did not like the idea of two member delegation for the discussions and threatened to boycott the all party meet scheduled for 6th January. The TRS question the motive of calling two members again from each party which will only result in fractioned opinion. Meanwhile, unfazed by the bickering of TRS and BJP, Home minister Chidambaram sounded optimistic about the all party meet. He said that any number of members can attend the all party meet and it doesn't matter whether it is one or two.

Chidambaram also asserted that it is not possible to come to a conclusion on Telangana very easily. He has put total responsibility on the state parties by saying ‘It is the state political parties who has to come to one understanding on the Telangana issue and until unless it doesn't happen Telangana cannot be resolved in the near future’ said Chidambaram. Chidambaram reiterated that in spite of calling two members from each party the discussions are not going to become one sided and there is always a possibility for a collective conclusion. But, is it possible for the parties to come to a collective conclusion with just few hours of meeting? How is it possible for the leaders to study the 600 page Sri Krishna report in just few hours?Probably this is what Chidambaram is trying to tell us by saying that it is not possible to come to a conclusion on Telangana so easily. The all party meet will surely end up inconclusively with Samaikhyandhra leaders asking more time to study the report and react.

If TRS and BJP abstains from the all party meet then there will no credibility for the Jan 6th meeting in New Delhi. The signs are clear that the centre is not ready as of now to give the Telangana state and it remains to be seen whether this decision will backfire or not?

Beautiful Thought by Lord Buddha

Once Buddha was travelling with a few of his followers. While they were passing a lake, Buddha told one of his disciples, "I am thirsty. Do get me some water from the lake."

The disciple walked up to the lake. At that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy and turbid. The disciple thought, "How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink?"

So he came back and told Buddha, "The water in there is very muddy. I don't think it is fit to drink."

After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake.

The disciple went back, and found that the water was still muddy. He returned and informed Buddha about the same.

After sometime, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back.

This time, the disciple found the mud had settled down, and the water was clean and clear. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said,
" See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be, and the mud settled down on its own -- and you have clear water.

Your mind is like that too ! When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don't have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen . It is effortless."

Having 'Peace of Mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process!
